Pinewood Derby Race Day at GrandTen Distilling
GrandTen Distilling, 383 Dorchester Ave. will host Pinewood Derby Race Day on Sunday, Aug. 7. The unmanned miniature car races on two-lane 35-foot all-aluminum tracks will be held anytime between from 2 to 5 p.m. and it’s free to enter.

Registration for Summer Sports is Open
The Sports Centers at Whites Stadium in Franklin Park, East Boston Memorial Stadium, M Street Park in South Boston, Garvey Playground in Dorchester, and Almont Park in Mattapan
will offer instruction in a variety of popular sports for children, 7 to 14 years of age, on weekdays through Friday, Aug. 19.

The BPDA's model room houses a 1:40 inch scale, physical, basswood model of Boston's downtown and portions of Beacon Hill, the North End, Charlestown, Back Bay and the South Boston waterfront.

Peace by Piece – 1st Monday online; 3rd Monday Onsite
Peace by Piece (hosted by the Fourth Presbyterian Church, 340 Dorchester St.) will be held online from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the first Monday of the month (except for holidays) and onsite from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the third Monday of the month (except for holidays).
Peace by Piece (for post-traumatic healing) provides free monthly trauma support programming using a community-based approach to foster recovery and healing from all sources of post-traumatic stress, grief, or losses of all types. This program - facilitated by the Peace by Piece Team - is open for all adults from all backgrounds, faiths and orientations around the Greater Boston area - all are welcome.

The Yoga Playground
The mission at the Yoga Playground, 249 E St., is to celebrate authentic connection through intentional, playful practice that’s open to everyone regardless of skill level, income, or identity.

The Boston Cyclists Union
The Boston Cyclists Union invites people to get involved and join a working group or committee.
– Volunteer working groups (Activist Group and Programming Group) meet monthly and play an important role in planning and organizing the Bike Union programs and campaigns. Participation in these groups offers a more active, “on-the-ground” influence than traditional volunteer opportunities.
– The three board committees (Development, Finance and Operations, and Governance) support the staff in long-term planning and strategy. Each committee meets monthly.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston offers accessible and affordable after-school and summer programming to children and teens in Boston and Chelsea.

Kroc Community Center Onsite/Online
The Salvation Army-Kroc Corps Community Center, 650 Dudley St., has a fitness floor, cardio loft and expanded cycling studio in the gymnasium along with a Water Park and Playground and offers a variety of onsite and virtual programs for all ages.

Violence, addiction, poverty, oppression, chronic mental illness and other injustices often isolate victims and survivors from the blessings of a safe and welcoming community.
During this chaotic crisis, St. Monica’s Kitchen continues to offer groceries and provide the monthly Peace Breakfast to those in need. They anticipate the problem of hunger to increase as many more of their neighbors experience a food emergency.
